Hydration Options

Hydrating is important on long runs no matter the temperature. Even running outside in the winter, you’ll be sweating more than you realize. For long summer runs, hydration is a must. Start considering how you’ll meet your hydration needs on long runs and race day. Christi Dee of This Blonde Runs Coaching gives an overview of the options (handheld bottle, waist pack, or vest) and shares some pros and cons for each.

Other options: run lots of loops near your car and keep water there, map your long run past every drinking fountain in town, stash water bottles along a trail and hope no one takes them, or force a friend to bike next to you as your personal sherpa!
